01. Scope and operator
This Privacy Policy applies to Night Watch: Dreamlight Defense (also called Night Watch), including its TikTok mini game and browser version, and related player support. The operator is ByteTrove Innovations LLC, 808 E Liberty St, Mexico, MO 65265-2956, United States. Contact [email protected]. This game-specific policy describes our game practices; TikTok independently operates the platform under its own privacy policy.
02. Information handled by the game
The game saves progress, levels, buildings, in-game resources, preferences, reward claims and advertising cooldown/history records in local device storage. In the browser this uses localStorage; the TikTok version uses platform-provided local storage. Window dimensions, pixel ratio and safe-area information are read to display the game correctly. Launch and return-entry information and mission-eligibility results may be used for platform return rewards. The current game has no developer-operated account database, cloud-save service or online leaderboard.
03. TikTok login and platform features
The native game calls TikTok login on launch and for supported reward features. A temporary login code and success or failure result may be returned to the game. The current implementation checks these results in memory; it does not persist or log the code or send it to a developer backend to exchange for an account identity. The game does not request your TikTok password, contact list, private messages, profile photo or video library. Sharing, shortcuts and return-entry missions, when supported and selected, are handled through TikTok and may return a completion or eligibility result.
04. Advertising
The game supports TikTok-provided rewarded video and interstitial advertising when enabled and available. Rewarded videos are optional and provide an in-game benefit only when the platform confirms completion. The game handles ad availability, completion, cancellation and error callbacks, and saves local records to limit frequency and duplicate rewards. TikTok and its advertising partners may process account, device or advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location, ad interactions and diagnostic information under their own policies and your platform settings. We do not receive your full advertising profile through these game callbacks. No separate third-party advertising or analytics SDK is bundled in this version. Advertising is unavailable in builds without configured advertising units.
05. Support and this policy website
If you contact us, we receive the email address, message and any attachments you choose to provide. Send only information needed to resolve your request; do not send passwords or login codes. Cloudflare hosts this policy website and may process IP addresses, browser details, requested URLs and security/access logs to deliver and protect it. These policy pages do not add advertising pixels or analytics cookies.
06. Purposes and legal bases
Local data supports gameplay, saving progress, display compatibility, rewards and ad frequency limits. Support information is used to respond, investigate issues, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations. Where a legal basis is required, we rely on providing the service you request, legitimate interests in support and security, legal obligations, or consent when required. Platform advertising and permissions are subject to the choices and legal bases described by the relevant platform. We do not request camera, microphone, contacts or precise GPS location access through the game.
07. Sharing and platform responsibility
The current game does not transmit local saved progress to a developer-operated server. We do not sell the personal information we receive in support requests or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. TikTok processing for its own platform and advertising is separate and subject to its policies. Support and website information may be handled by email, hosting and security service providers, disclosed when legally required or necessary to protect rights and safety, or transferred in a business reorganization with applicable safeguards.
08. Retention and deletion
Local saves and reward records remain on your device until overwritten, cleared through the relevant browser or platform controls, or removed with app/site data. Availability of platform controls varies by device. Clearing data may permanently reset your progress; we cannot restore a save we do not hold. Temporary login responses are not deliberately persisted by the game. Support records are kept only as needed to resolve the request and for applicable legal, security or recordkeeping needs. Contact [email protected] to request deletion of support information. TikTok controls retention and deletion of information held in its own systems.
09. Your choices and rights
You can decline optional rewarded ads, use available TikTok privacy and ad settings, clear local game data, or stop using the game. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability or restriction, object to processing, withdraw consent, or appeal a decision concerning your privacy request. Email [email protected] with the subject “Night Watch privacy request”. We may request proportionate information to verify your request, but will not ask for your password. We respond within applicable legal deadlines and do not discriminate for exercising privacy rights. You may also complain to your relevant data protection authority. For data controlled by TikTok, use TikTok’s privacy tools or contact TikTok directly.
10. Children and eligibility
The game is not directed to children under 13. Players must also meet the minimum age and other eligibility requirements of their region and the platform, including any higher age requirement. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through player support. If you believe a child has provided such information, contact [email protected] so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion.
11. International processing and security
ByteTrove is based in the United States. Website and email providers may process information in other countries. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we use the required transfer arrangements. Local game saves remain in the storage provided by your browser or platform; that platform may have its own storage practices. We use reasonable measures appropriate to the information we handle, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure.
12. Other policies and updates
TikTok’s applicable regional Privacy Policy and Terms of Service govern its services. Website hosting information is available in Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy. We will update this notice when our practices change and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required. Any future developer backend, new SDK or materially different data use will require an updated notice before that processing begins.
